"The balloons went down very well
at my son's birthday do. The boys seemed very chuffed
just making simple crowns/hats, and asked me to make
them animals while they charged around in their headgear,
treading on the earlier Lego models they had made and
displayed.
One boy stayed on at the end, after everyone else, including
the birthday boy, had gone, and we made together some
very ambitious designs: an umbrella, a shelf !!! (both
his ideas) and (my pride and joy) a 5-balloon bluebottle-type-thing.
Then I realised that his mother had come back from the
supermarket after all, but had parked her car unusually
far up her drive where I couldn't see it from my normal
vantage point, so he then ran home happily with his
creations bouncing around in a giant bin bag.
To my chagrin, I couldn't make a decent sword though.
I will persevere!
Many thanks, Jo
Wiz] Was the DIY party plan perfect, then?????
Jo] Of course not! - were your children's, when
you were 'just' a parent?!?!
Wiz] Did the balloon bit last half an hour, or
the whole party?
Jo] I would say it lasted about half an hour,
which was about right.
Wiz] Did you get round to any games with the
balloons?
Jo] Not really, or rather, none that I had intended
to play. They made up their own game (prancing around
our small sitting room and hitting each other with un-modelled
balloons). There was a distinct lack of control or organisation,
I'm afraid! But I achieved my aim of a very easy-going,
fairly unstressful party.

You are the best!
Thank you for such an informative site! I have been
practicing and
experimenting for about 3 months. Attached are a few
of my creations and a
few standards. Let me know what you think! Thank you
again, you have made my
daughter one of the happiest people on the planet. What
people don't really
know is that they are more fun to make than they are
to play with! Thanks
again!!!

Just wanted to compliment you on a wicked site - keep up the good work - I was surfin for some good "wussy-free" stuff as you would put it and i was hoping all your links would be finished so i could get to something i haven't seen a million times

Good- very witty, especially the 'wussey'
section. Having attempted to
make doggy giraffes (they could have been either!)
at a party recently, I did
indeed have the urge to squash the little blighters
(balloons not the kids
-although it is tempting!)

BTW I've been having so much fun with your balloons. I've raised money for charity, entertained a group of recently bereaved children and been a hit at my family’s birthday parties! It’s so simple and brings so much pleasure to me as well as the kids!

You really ought to practise in the right environment.
This just happens to be in my gite in Calvados, Normandy (France) just 45 minutes from ferries.
